WECOTA (AP) - A century-old church in northeast South Dakota was destroyed by fire.

The Faulk County sheriff's office said the fire at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church northeast of Wecota was reported around 8:30 Wednesday night.

Firefighters from Cresbard and Faulkton were called out. No one was hurt.

Investigators say an electrical short in the steeple may be to blame. The church was built in 1904.
