Peace And Justice Group Meets Tonight

The Yankton Chapter of the South Dakota Peace and Justice Center hosts Charlie Johnson of "Save Our Vote" at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 7. The event will be at the Emmaus House, 401 Green.

Johnson, a farmer and rancher from Madison, will share information about the Save Our Vote initiative. Currently, decisions of county commissions may be referred by a vote of the citizens. However, appointed boards' decisions may not be overturned. A case involving Moody County commissioners who named themselves a Board of Adjustment, and thus were not answerable to the people, inspired the Save Our Vote action.

The public is invited to the one-hour presentation.
