Jeff Paul of the Sioux Falls Celtic group Maggie in the Meantime plays the pennywhistle while his group performed for Yankton students at several schools Friday in honor of the St. Patrick’s Day holiday. Paul was joined by brothers Darrel Fickbohm (vocal & guitar) and Blaine Fickbohm (drums), and violinist Magdalena Modzelewska in giving students at Webster, Beadle, Stewart and Lincoln elementary schools and the Yankton Middle School a taste of Irish sounds and folklore. The programs were made possible by a YSD 63-3 Foundation grant awarded to the Yankton Public Schools Music Department. South Dakota Arts Council support is provided with funds from the State of South Dakota, through the Department of Tourism and State Development, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
