Crofton Theatre Group Presents Musical
CROFTON, Neb. — The Crofton Area Theatre Society (CATS) will present a Christmas musical entitled, “The Sound of Christmas” on Sunday, Dec. 13, at the Crofton Community Center (City Auditorium) Showtimes are 2 p.m. and 7p.m. Both shows are free of charge.
This year’s show is adapted from a youth skit by James Jack and Cameron Smith. Cheri Leader thought the skit was a fun idea, but very short — only 10 minutes long — with only a few songs. She extended it by adding lines, characters, and songs, and the result is “The Sound of Christmas,” a humorous retelling of the Christmas story in a musical format, told through rewriting a collection of secular Christmas songs as well as musical selections from “The Sound of Music” all with a Christian message.
The large cast of more than 30 actors, actresses and chorus members from grade school age through grandparents has begun rehearsals. The show also has a Christian message for the season.
