Tuesday, August 29, 1933
• L.E. Corey, state director of taxation who was stricken here Monday with an apparent stroke, died yesterday afternoon at the Yankton hospital. His funeral services will be held Thursday in Wagner.
• The Tabor Tigers won a pitchers’ battle with Dante Sunday by a score of 2-1. Smith of Dante staged one of the best exhibitions of pitching seen this year.

• James Siebert, new development director for Yankton College, arrived in Yankton this week accompanied by his wife and two sons.
• Rapid City dropped the Yankton Lakers 6-3 in first-round action of the South Dakota State Amateur Baseball Tournament in Mobridge. Ken Liveris had two hits to pace Yankton.

• Mount Marty College is expecting a “nice increase” in its enrollment for the 1983-84 school year, MMC officials said today.
• Nebraska has been picked to dethrone Penn State in the Associated Press preseason college football poll. Oklahoma is No. 2 and Texas is third.
