Pound Count
Several animals are available at the Yankton Animal Shelter. For more information call the Yankton Police Department’s Animal Control Officer, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday at 661-9494, or 668-5210. A $5 fee is required to adopt an animal. Animals can be viewed on the Humane Society Web site at www.heartlandhumanesociety.net.

When juveniles are released from jail, it is into the care of a parent or guardian.

Accidents
• A vehicle driven by Nicholas Wuebben backed into a vehicle owned by Jarod Gilbertson in the 800 block of West Third St. around 10 a.m. Wednesday. Estimated value of the damage to the Gilbertson vehicle was $1,507.
• A vehicle driven by Charles Ginsbach collided with a vehicle driven by Geradina Hazuka in the 400 block of Broadway at 12:02 p.m. Wednesday.
Arrests/Citations/Bookings
• Tyler Lee Aginah, 21, Yankton, was arrested at 1:53 p.m. Tuesday for possession of marijuana and two counts of distribution of marijuana. He was being held on $10,000 bond.
• Chiquilla Malloree Babin, 47, Geddes, was arrested at 12:33 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for another agency.
• Nathan Allen Braaten, 18, Yankton, was arrested at 5:51 p.m. Tuesday for simple assault. He was released at 7:35 p.m. Tuesday on $500 bond.
• Cody Michael Davis, 22, Huron, was arrested at 10:10 a.m. Tuesday for simple assault. He was released at 11:06 a.m. Tuesday on $5,000 bond.
• Alfred Benjamin Dragg, 23, Yankton, was arrested at 8:49 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for another agency.
• Nicholas Lee Kellen, 21, Yankton, was arrested at 1:12 p.m. Tuesday on a bench warrant. He was released on $1,000 bond.
• Troy Donavon Roberts, 39, Yankton, was arrested at 8:40 p.m. Tuesday on two counts of non-support of children. He was being held on $10,000 bond.
• Marty Leroy Samson, 48, Fort Laramie, Wyo., was arrested at 7:25 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for another agency. He was released at 6:21 a.m. Wednesday.
Incidents
• Two juveniles were arrested at the Yankton High School Wednesday morning for consuming alcohol. One of them was also charged with resisting arrest and assaulting an officer.
