Pound Count
Several animals are available at the Yankton Animal Shelter. For more information call the Yankton Police Department’s Animal Control Officer, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday at 661-9494, or 668-5210. A $5 fee is required to adopt an animal. Animals can be viewed on the Humane Society Web site at www.heartlandhumanesociety.net.

It is important to remember that an arrest should not imply guilt and that every person is presumed innocent until proven otherwise. When juveniles are released from jail, it is into the care of a parent or guardian.
It is the policy of the Press and Dakotan to publish all names made available in the police and court reports. There are no exceptions.
Accidents
• A report was received at 7:31 p.m. Friday of an injury accident on Lakeview Terrace, which is located north of Highway 52. An investigating deputy was told that Randy Deraad, Yankton, was eluding a park ranger after he was caught riding an ATV in a state ditch. Deraad allegedly rode the ATV up Lakeview Terrace, went off the roadway and hit a tree. He was thrown off the machine and down an embankment, suffering minor injuries. Deraad was arrested by a state trooper for driving under the influence and cited for driving an unlicensed motor vehicle.

• Nathan Allen Braaten, 18, Yankton, was arrested at 2:28 a.m. Sunday for minor in consumption, open container and driving under the influence (first). He was released at 3:10 a.m. Sunday on $500 bond.
• Randy Eugene Deraad, 42, Yankton, was arrested at 11:09 p.m. Friday for driving under the influence (first). He was released at 12:19 p.m. Saturday on $500 bond.
• Dennis John Deyo, 47, Yankton, was arrested at 5:47 p.m. Saturday for simple assault, first-degree burglary, third-degree intentional damage to property and violation of conditional bond. He was being held on $20,000 bond.
• Manuel Francisco, 22, Yankton, was arrested at 1:01 a.m. Saturday for driving under the influence (first). He was released at 9:37 a.m. Saturday on $500 bond.
• Hilary Dean Hanisch, 52, Yankton, was arrested at 12:51 a.m. Friday for driving under the influence (first). She was released at 1:22 a.m. Friday on $500 bond.
• Brittney Wilda Jensen, 19, Yankton, was arrested at 4:52 p.m. Friday for second-degree petty theft. She was released at 5:21 p.m. Friday on $217.26 bond.
• Derrick William Lande, 24, Yankton, was arrested at 12:22 a.m. Saturday for probation violation and two counts of possession of marijuana. He was being held on $500 bond.
• Diana Lynn Masterson, 45, Yankton, was arrested at 1:25 a.m. Sunday for driving under the influence (fourth). She was being held on $5,000 bond.
• Ashley Rose McLaughlin, 25, Yankton, was arrested at 4:11 a.m. Sunday for simple assault. She was being held on $1,000 bond.
• A 17-year-old Yankton juvenile was arrested at 1:34 a.m. Saturday for minor in consumption. The subject was released at 4:50 a.m. Saturday.
• Terry Charles Red Feather, 30, Yankton, was arrested at 7:02 a.m. Saturday for parole violation. He was released at 7:52 p.m. Sunday.
• Joshua Jay Redwing, 23, Yankton, was arrested at 6:35 a.m. Sunday for violation of conditional bond. He was released at 1:48 p.m. Sunday.
• Matthew Louis Rock, 19, Yankton, was arrested at 7:20 p.m. Friday on a bench warrant. He was released at 8:06 p.m. Friday on $200 bond.
• Elizabeth Virginia Roubideaux, 26, Utica, was arrested at 8:16 p.m. Sunday for driving under the influence (first). She was released at 9:17 p.m. Sunday on $500 bond.
• Casey Jay Simmons, 26, Yankton, was arrested at 7:31 a.m. Sunday for violation of conditional bond. The subject was released at 11:45 a.m. Sunday.
• Timothy Louis Young, 30, Yankton, was arrested at 3:43 a.m. Friday for driving under revocation and driving under the influence (sixth). He was released at 2:09 p.m. Friday on $10,000 bond.
Incidents
• An individual in the 500 block of West Eighth St. reported at 6:35 p.m. Friday that a weed trimmer was stolen from a garage.
• A woman in the 500 block of Douglas reported at 10:47 p.m. Friday that her soon-to-be ex-husband broke into her residence and threatened her. She also reported that two tires on her vehicle had been slashed.
• A woman in the 900 block of Peninah reported at 12:18 p.m. Saturday that a jar with $100 worth of loose change was stolen from her unlocked vehicle.
• A woman reported at 3:06 a.m. Sunday that her daughter was intoxicated and out of control. The younger woman was arrested on two counts of simple assault. Her children were taken from the residence and turned over to the state Department of Social Services.
• A man in the 1300 block of National St. reported at 6:57 a.m. Sunday that his car was stolen. He was advised that the car had been driven by a woman who had been arrested earlier that morning. The complainant was advised where he could retrieve the vehicle.
• A report was received at 11:29 a.m. Monday of a juvenile male pulling a knife on another juvenile male at Memorial Park Pool Sunday.
• A woman along Highway 50 west of Deer Boulevard reported at 6:48 p.m. Friday that a vehicle drove into the ditch and onto her property before turning around a leaving. Juveniles were believed to be in the vehicle. A deputy located the vehicle and cited a 16-year-old male for careless driving.
