• Full compliance with President Roosevelt’s blanket agreement on hours and wages in accordance with the NRA will be expected of Yankton employers by next Tuesday.
• One application for the retail sale of 3.2 beer will be presented to the Volin town board next Tuesday by Paul Orton, proprietor of a local coffee shop.

• According to an announcement this morning, Lorne S. Arnold has declined to accept the athletic directorship of the Yankton public school system for reasons of health and his desire to remain occupied with classroom teaching only. The Board of Education immediately announced that each varsity coach will supervise and direct his own department for the 1958-59 athletic year.
• Scotland repeated as Class “B” Legion champs, coming through the losers bracket to defeat Howard 7-4 and 18-6 and win the crown.

• The B-Y Water District plans to pursue its legal battle with a Nebraska contractor in a new trial, water district lawyer Robert Ulrich said this week.
