Wednesday, July 26, 1933
• Fire on a westbound Milwaukee train yesterday damaged five sacks of mail before the train reached Vermillion. A defective light switch is believed to have caused the blaze.
• R.K. Gehring, Olivet farmer, had a narrow escape recently when the cream separator he was using exploded and a piece of iron struck him in the face. The wound required the services of a physician.

• The Tyndall Chamber of Commerce launched their inaugural, two-day Goodwill Celebration Friday afternoon with a parade through the business district.
• Richard L. Auch of Lesterville is one of three new game wardens announced by the state department of Game, Fish and Parks.

• The Dakota Territorial Museum in Yankton has requested $100,000 in funds from the city for an expansion plan at the museum.
• Angela Forister, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Forister of Yankton and a student at Yankton High School, was appointed as assistant secretary of Conservation and Renewable Energy at Girls Nation. The seven-day Girls Nation event was held on the campus of Marymount College in Virginia.
