Volin Exhibit Featured At Yankton Museum
July’s feature exhibit at Yankton’s Dakota Territorial Museum will be “Volin: Before the 1939 Fire.” The exhibit opens Friday, July 11, and will remain at the museum through Sept. 30.
his exhibit will feature the booming town of Volin before the big fire of 1939. Volin played a major role in the fine arts of southeast South Dakota, participated in many national organizations and movements, and enjoyed the luxuries of having two railroads cross through town.
The Dakota Territorial Museum is located in Westside Park across from Avera Sacred Heart Hospital. Admission is free. Hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays and noon-4 p.m. weekends. For questions or special viewings, contact Crystal Mensch at 665-3898.
