Pound Count
Several animals are available at the Yankton Animal Shelter. For more information call the Yankton Police Department’s Animal Control Officer, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday at 661-9494, or 668-5210. A $5 fee is required to adopt an animal. • A 2005 Dodge Ram driven by Daniel Rafferty, Yankton, collided with a parked 2001 Honda Accord in the 600 block of Applewood Drive at 11:05 a.m. Friday. Estimated value of the damage to the vehicles was $450 and $1,250, respectively.
• A report was received at 12:01 a.m. Saturday that a yellow Jeep hit a mail box in the 1300 block of East Eighth St. A vehicle driven by a juvenile male was later stopped. He was cited for careless driving and failure to report an accident.
• A vehicle driven by Jennifer Cowman, Yankton, collided with a deer on 308th St. near 448th Ave. at 3 a.m. Saturday. Estimated value of the damage to the vehicle was $971.
• A vehicle driven by Philip Kessler, Colorado Springs, Colo., ended up on its side after Kessler said he fell asleep. He was driving along 291st St. near 442nd Ave. and entered the ditch when he fell asleep. Upon waking up, he overcorrected and ended up in the other ditch before colliding with a fence and entering a corn field.

• Roger Quentin Adams, 30, Yankton, was arrested at 7:10 a.m. Thursday on a warrant for another agency. He was released at 10:17 a.m. Thursday on $7,000 bond. He was arrested again at 7:30 a.m. Friday for violation of conditional bond and was released at 7:50 p.m. Friday.
• Tyler Lee Aginah, 21, Yankton, was arrested at 4:36 p.m. Thursday for possession of drugs in a drug-free zone, two counts of possession of marijuana and three counts of distribution of marijuana. He was being held on $10,000 bond.
• Matthew Edward Andresen, 27, Sioux Falls, was arrested at 2:49 a.m. Saturday for driving under the influence (second). He was released at 10:40 a.m. Saturday on $500 bond.
• A 17-year-old Yankton juvenile was arrested at 12:30 a.m. Thursday as a runaway. The subject was released at 5:45 a.m. Thursday.
• Andrew Kenneth Bennett, 21, Yankton, was arrested at 1:56 p.m. Sunday for third-degree intentional damage to property. He was released at 2:20 p.m. Sunday on $500 bond.
• Christopher Edward Beyer, 26, Yankton, was arrested at 8:38 a.m. Saturday for parole violation. He was released at 6:46 a.m. Monday.
• Tricia Ann Garvin, 24, McCook Lake, was arrested at 3 a.m. Sunday for reckless driving. She was released at 3:44 a.m. Sunday on $500 bond.

• A 17-year-old Volin juvenile was arrested at 4:59 a.m. Sunday for curfew and minor in consumption. The subject was released at 5:30 a.m. Sunday.

• A bicycle was found in the 1100 block of Green St. Thursday afternoon.
• A report was received at 5:52 p.m. Thursday of an iPod charger stolen in the 2700 block of Pine.
• An individual reported at 11:23 a.m. Friday that her car’s windshield had been broken while parked in the 800 block of East 13th St.
• A report was received at 5:49 a.m. Saturday of a burglary at a business in the 1000 block of Broadway.
• A man in the 2500 block of Valley Road reported at 10:45 a.m. Saturday that two vehicles parked near his residence had cake and whipped topping thrown on them. No damage was reported to the vehicles.
• A woman in the 200 block of West Eighth St. reported at 12:43 p.m. Saturday that some burned CDs and a holder had been stolen from her.
• A man in the 200 block of Broadway reported at 9:29 a.m. Sunday that a woman broke into his home and stole approximately $75 in coins.
• A woman reported at 8:51 p.m. Sunday that she is having problems with her son taking money. Upon investigation, authorities learned that the son had been assaulted in the park by a male and was told to pay $500, or it would happen again. The matter remains under investigation.
• A man in the 100 block of East Second St. reported at 7:54 a.m. Monday that a 9.9 horse-power motor was stolen from his son’s boat.
• A report was received at 8:49 a.m. Monday that graffiti had been spray-painted under bridges in the 700 block of Cedar and the 800 block of Broadway. Estimated value of the damage is $400.
• A report was received at 10:11 a.m. Friday from a business east of Yankton that a semi trailer had been burglarized. Crates of soda and drinking water were stolen.
• A man along S. Jim River Road reported at 11:40 a.m. Friday that his mailbox had been destroyed. It looked as though it had been hit by a bat or something similar.
• A woman reported at 12:15 p.m. Saturday that someone apparently placed a large firecracker in her mailbox and blew the back of it off.
• A man reported at 10:35 a.m. Sunday that someone had apparently placed fireworks in his mailbox and destroyed it.
• A report was received from a gas station east of Yankton that someone had broken out a window there with rocks.
• A report was received from a business east of Yankton that, when keys were left in a pickup for someone to pick it up, someone came along and drove it into a nearby fence. The vehicle was left at the scene, but the keys were stolen.
• Various fireworks complaints were received by the Yankton Police Department and the Yankton County Sheriff’s Office during the weekend.
